One of the titles I was looking forward to seeing most was Warhammer 40k Armageddon, and it did not disappoint. This is a hex-based strategy game set during the second war of Armageddon. Players will have the chance to play as many iconic armies such as the Space Marines and Imperium.
For fans of Panzer Corps, you will be happy to know that this is made by the same team (Flashback Games and the Lordz Game Studio). As of the convention, it looked a lot like Panzer Corps, so players will be familiar with the basic interface. It has been said by many that this is the closest to tabletop Warhammer 40k that we have ever been.
Alex, one of the developers mentioned ten cool things to note about this game:
1. It’s Warhammer 40k!
2. It’s Armageddon (one of the central conflicts).
3. A unique alien world (cool environments to battle on).
4. More than 300 units.
5. Easy to play (just one unit per hex, just one move and one attack action).
6. Hard to master.
7. Variety of play modes.
- Player will have dialogue choices. Units carry over from each scenario to another.
- Campaign and scenario mode.
8. Rich Multiplayer Options
- Potential custom armies based on a point system. Woohoo!
- Player rankings, player matching.
- Co-op mode.
9. Extensive modding options.
10. This is just the beginning (more in series to come).
I know I am excited. They are aiming for Quarter 3, 2014.
